Ms Yan Yuening (Tina)
Instructor
Yuening currently serves as a Lecturer at the Acacia College, National University of Singapore. She obtained her PhD in the Department of Information Systems and Analytics, NUS, and her BEng from Xi'an Jiaotong University.
Prior to joining Acacia College, Yuening spent two years as a Teaching Assistant in DISA. She taught across a range of areas, including generative AI, big data analytics, cloud computing, applied & business analytics, and AI ethics. Alongside her training in engineering and AI research, she has a longstanding interest in psychology and its intersections with the design, use, and governance of emerging technologies.
Her research examines how increasingly capable AI systems reshape human agency, cognition, responsibility, and social life. Situated at the intersection of human–AI interaction, information systems, and AI design, her work investigates how people collaborate with and maintain control over AI, how AI systems respond to conflicting information and human guidance, and how AI-mediated technologies influence individual well-being and society.
