🍽️ Event Highlight: Acacia College’s First‑Ever Welcome Dinner

On 19 September, Acacia College marked a historic milestone with its first‑ever Welcome Dinner, bringing together the inaugural batch of freshmen for AY2025/26 and seniors for a meaningful evening of celebration and community.

The dinner kicked off with opening remarks by Master of Acacia College, A/Prof Heng Cheng Suang, and Vice Provost (Student Life), A/Prof Leong Ching, who warmly encouraged every resident to feel connected and be part of the larger Acacia family.

Set in a festive and welcoming atmosphere, the evening was filled with joy and laughter as residents and guests enjoyed performances by various student groups. The event set the tone for campus life at Acacia College, fostering bonds and celebrating the beginning of an exciting new chapter for its very first cohort.

🕯️ Event Highlight: Residential Colleges Horror Night – The 6 World Wonders

On 28 October 2025, Residential Colleges Horror Night immersed participants in a chilling experience set on Alcatraz Island, where they entered as “special investigators” tasked with reopening the sealed Cell Block 13 after a mysterious disappearance.

  

As the night progressed, the investigation twisted into a psychological horror, revealing that participants were in fact Prisoner #969, trapped in a fractured mind shaped by obsession, trauma, and guilt. Reality blurred with delusion as the story unfolded within the haunting prison setting.

Through immersive storytelling and atmosphere, The 6 World Wonders delivered a memorable and unsettling Horror Night experience.

📖 Event Highlights: The Reading Club @ Acacia College

On 17 November 2025, Acacia College and NUS Libraries hosted The Reading Club at the Acacia College Master Lounge. Residents took a welcome break from their studies to unwind with good books, coffee, and snacks.

Participants selected from six brand-new titles, spent time reading together, and shared reflections in a relaxed, no-pressure setting. Each reader also got to keep their chosen book.

The session featured a special guest, award-winning author Ken Liu, who delivered a short talk on “Challenges Facing Humanity at This Moment,” adding a thought‑provoking close to an afternoon of reading and conversation.

🏆 Event Highlight: Inter‑House Games 2025

 

In November, Inter‑House Games (IHG) 2025 brought energy and excitement to Acacia College as the three Houses went head‑to‑head in a season of friendly but fiercely competitive games. Fully organised by the House Committee, the annual event showcased teamwork, House spirit, and plenty of fun.

IHG 2025 reminded residents that every edition brings new challenges—and a champion. Through determination and camaraderie, Zenith House emerged victorious, earning the title of Best House of the Year and making IHG 2025 a memorable highlight on the Acacia College calendar.
